OUR FOOD

Freeze-Dried Raw is excellent for dogs! It offers the nutritional goodness of raw feeding but in a format that can be stored in the cupboard.

Raw feeding is often perceived to be the best nutritional choice for dogs, as it is subject to less processing and heat than other formats of food such as dry (kibble) or wet foods. Kibble and wet food are both heated to over 150 degrees Celsius, which can cause some degradation of ingredients and negative nutritional impact.

Freeze-Dried Raw, however, is not subject to any heat application or any cooking, which means the nutritional value of the end product you feed to your dog, is the same as the raw ingredients that went into it!

No, Freeze-Dried Raw requires no preparation other than measuring out your dog’s perfect portion and then serving. For help with daily portions, check out our feeding guide.

The 80/20 formulation refers to 80% meat and 20% fruit and vegetables.

This format of recipe is often considered the best, all round approach to a complete and balanced diet for dogs.

Read more about this in our 80/20 Feeding Reading post!

This is a great question, and one of our favourites as we are so proud of all our recipes and what goes into them.

We've focussed on creating single protein, naturally hypoallergenic, utterly delicious products that dogs go wild for, at the same time as getting all the brilliant goodness of raw feeding.

To do this, we focussed on simple recipes with premium ingredients that all have nutritional benefits for dog health.

You can check out all of the ingredients used on our ingredients page.

Unless advised against by a vet, a puppy can be fed a Freeze-Dried Raw diet from the age of 8 weeks.

We offer a puppy product as part of our range, with the same goodness as the adult recipes and the same 80/20 mix of single protein and specially selected 5 fruit and vegetables. This product has been made specifically for dogs aged 8 weeks to 1 year old to give them the nutrients they need to give them the best start in life.

That’s a great question! As we’ve removed the water from the raw ingredients, Freeze-Dried Raw is much lighter than Frozen Raw, kibble or wet food.

150g = 640g complete and balanced raw frozen food or two tins of premium wet

650g (fish big box only) = 2.8kg of complete and balanced raw frozen or 9 tins of premium wet

750g (all other recipe big boxes) = 3.2kg of complete and balanced raw frozen or 10 tins of premium wet

1.8kg (multi pack) = 7.7kg of complete and balanced raw frozen food or 24 cans of premium wet

You can find our handy feeding guide for main meals here. Remember that is a guide and each dog is different. You should consider your dog’s activity levels and weight goals (lose, maintain or gain weight) and always consult your vet if you need further advice. Always ensure that clean, fresh water is available.

Our products do not contain bone. Our recipes for the food range are 80/20 which means 80% meat and 20% fruits and vegetables. We also add vitamins and minerals which is needed to ensure a complete and balanced diet.

Our products do not contain offal. Our recipes for the food range are 80/20 which means 80% meat and 20% fruits and vegetables. We also add vitamins and minerals which is needed to ensure a complete and balanced diet.

Our COYA range is made here in the UK made from UK and EU naturally sourced ingredients. Our fruits and vegetables are picked at the height of their season for maximum freshness and sustainability.

Our food has a shelf life of 18 months from purchase. Once opened, however, we suggest using within 1 month.

Using the feeding guide, we recommend feeding at the goal weight of your dog. So, if your dog weighs 10kg but should be more towards 8kg, feed as you would an 8kg dog.

It's always worth consulting with your vet if you need more advise specific to your dog's requirements.

Because our food is raw and not subject to harsh processing, a lot of pets can move onto feeding COYA without a strict transitional period like other traditional formats of food.

However, some dogs can benefit from a transitional period over the course of one week.

To take this approach, we recommend mixing 10% of the daily COYA required amount in with your pet's existing food. Gradually increase this over 7 days until your dog is being fed 100% COYA.

Of course! COYA is designed to be fed as a full diet, a part time feed or a solution when travelling with your dog.

Make sure you refer to the feeding guide to work out how much to feed per day based on anything else in your dog's diet to avoid over or under feeding.

Our COYA Freeze-Dried Raw Food Toppers are designed to enliven your dog's diet and are traditionally used alongside dry and wet foods.

Our toppers give a huge increase in palatability as well as nutrition and make dinner time super exciting for your dog!

Available in 50g tubes, the toppers will last for multiple servings.

No transition is required to feed your dog the COYA toppers. Please note that these are not complete and balanced and should not be used as a replacement for a full diet.

Each recipe in our food range contains 3% pea.

Peas are packed with minerals like iron, zinc, potassium, and magnesium. They’re also rich in protein and high in fibre. Peas contain lutein, an anti-oxidant which can support skin, heart, and eye health.

Yes! Unless advised by your vet, your dog can enjoy COYA as part of their daily diet.
